SURFACE TREATMENT AND PAINTING
GALPAN has an in-house, state-of-the-art automated “Surface Treatment and Painting Line.” Assemblies up to 16.0 meters in length, 2.0 meters in width, 3.5 meters in height and maximum 12,000 kg. in weight, are processed in this line.
Surface cleaning and paint application processes, which are critical for corrosion protection and color retention, are executed in this state of art process line with a 220 meter-length.
Following the completion of the fabrication process, steel assemblies are mechanically cleaned to Class P1 (default) according to ISO 8501-3: 2006: “Preparation of steel substrates before application of paints and related products — Visual assessment of surface cleanliness — Part 3: Preparation grades of welds, edges and other areas with surface imperfections.”
After mechanical cleaning, the assemblies are loaded onto the Surface Treatment and Painting Line’s Power & Free Conveyor.
Surface Treatment is executed in an “Abrasive Blast-cleaning Equipment” (per ISO 8504-2:2000) according to ISO 8501-1:2007 up to Sa 3.
Painting is executed in an “environmentally compliant painting booth” according to ISO 12944.
